Professor Drake had a message to pass along to all students!

Wizard101 friends, fans, and customers,

When we first envisioned our sixth world we saw it as a world Wizards would experience after Dragonspyre. This world would have increased the maximum level beyond 50 and the supporting content (new spells, equipment, etc) necessary for the max level increase. However, when we dug into the overall Wizard101 game play and what would best serve our community we decided to launch Grizzleheim, a world that created a parallel experience and offered new content and experiences as players leveled thru the entire game and the other five worlds. While we hope that high level characters find the content enjoyable and engaging the immediate downside to this decision was that no level increase was introduced with this world.

Our decision to launch Grizzleheim also afforded us the ability to address several features that you, our community, had asked for. Features like the ability to group with other Wizards, control friend requests, trade request and new systems like crafting and the bazaar. We felt they were good, valuable additions, and so we made a decision to include them for all players new and old to enjoy.

That said, we did mention to our highest level players that the level cap would be raised this summer and we were not able to make that goal a reality. We apologize for that and would like say that we are continuing forward with plans to release new worlds that do push Wizards beyond level 50. In order to accomplish it, we need to make sure there are new opponents, quests, worlds, spells, and more.

If you’re close to or already at level 50, we invite you to explore Grizzleheim, the new crafting system, and the Bazaar and hope you are interested in seeing what new things we have in store for you soon.

Thank you for playing Wizard101!

Well, it is frustrating not to gain any experience while playing with my Grandmaster Death but I still play!  I know that once new things are released I should be able to level up just fine.  I have completed all fighting/main/side quests so far with Fallon.  Now, I have crafting to finish and LOTS of farming to do!!

Why not start a new character to nurture to grandmaster?  Recently, I started a Pyromancer/Death wizard.  I think by the time I finish working with her, the XP cap should be lifted.  I appreciate Professor Drake coming to speak with us today regarding this “touchy” issue.  If we are patient, great things will come, just like always!  This is not to say I wouldn’t LOVE experience points on my level 50……but I know I can still have fun while KingsIsle is busy busy busy on the next chapter.

Maybe we will see a new generation of wizards soon?  Have you started a new character recently while your level 50 sits at the back of the class?  Tell us about it – we love comments!

Is it Monday already? Have a great week young wizards!

I’m not sure why but I haven’t been all that interested in Grizzleheim now that it’s here. I did some of the crafting quests with my ice GM (Sierra) but they’re more of a bother than anything else. Mostly I’ve been working my mid-30s Life mage (Olivia) through Marleybone and trying to get my new storm wiz (Danielle) through Cyclops Lane, crafting as she goes.

If I were a subscriber with a ravenous appetite for more content, I might be bothered, but I’m an Access Pass player who does things at whatever pace I blasted well feel like. I’m happy with alternate paths and different things to do since I like *playing* the game rather than sitting at the level cap preening and pretending that I’m having fun.

How do you get the shortcut to the fire and ice gurtoks? Some people seem to just port straight to them without having to do any fights along the way.
