There are more changes coming to Wizard101 regarding spells.  Once the latest expansion is released, there will be MUCH more to learn. (Read more over at Wizard101Central – http://www.wizard101central.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16168.)

Soothe spells and any other spells like that have now been changed to 2 pips that were X spells.

Here’s a quick peek at the new cards over on the test server right now.

  • Taunt (Ice) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of X
  • Soothe (Storm) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of X
  • Subdue (Myth) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of X
  • Calm (Life) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of X
  • Wyldfire (Fire) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of 4
  • Sanctuary (Life) now costs 3 pips to cast instead of 4
  • Dark Wind (Storm) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of 4
  • Balefrost (Ice) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of 4 and is stronger with +35% to all spells
  • Time of Legend (Myth) now costs 2 pips to cast instead of 4
  • Doom and Gloom (Death) now costs 3 pips to cast instead of 4

    Is this change being made to *all* ‘X’ spells? I picked up Heck Hound last week (http://wizard101.wikia.com/wiki/Heck_Hound) and it is an ‘X’ spell (120 damage per pip over 3 rounds). Is this going to be changed as well, do you know?

    Right now this applies only to the cards above. If I find out for certain, I will post. I love my Heck Hound but I’m afraid I traded him in for my Helephant robes. :D
